The 2027 Sierra has been refreshed inside and out. The exterior gets a fresh appearance, with a sleek new grille, a more angular front fascia, and redesigned headlights. You can now equip your Sierra 1500 with available welcome and farewell animations that play on the exterior lights. You can also add available quad exhaust outlets for a more muscular appearance.
Inside the cabin, the Sierra 1500 offers even more luxury and comfort than before. The interior gets fully redesigned up and down the trim lineup, with premium materials like real wood trim, forged wood trim on the Denali Ultimate trim, and best-in-class front headroom and legroom in crew cab models. The MultiPro center console has also been redesigned and can now open up to create a work surface between the front seats.
The Sierra 1500 technology features continue to impress, with a stunning new 16.3-inch infotainment touchscreen taking center stage. You can pair this standard display with an available 11.5-inch front passenger screen, an available 15-inch multicolor Head Up Display, and an available 8.5-inch diagonal Rear Camera Mirror. A standard 12.2-inch digital gauge panel shows crucial driving information with easy-to-read graphics. Audiophiles will want to upgrade to the available Bose® premium audio system with 16 speakers, including class-exclusive front head restraint-mounted speakers.
The GMC Sierra 1500 gets some exciting updates under the hood for the 2027 model year. Most notable are two new V8 engine options. The official performance specs for the new 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter Small Block V8 engines have not yet been announced, but they are expected to deliver more powerful output than the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s that were available for the 2026 Sierra 1500.
Returning for 2027 are two stalwart engines: the standard TurboMax™ 2.7-liter turbo I4 (310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque) and the available Duramax® 3.0-liter turbo diesel I6 (305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque). Rear-wheel drive comes standard with the Sierra 1500, while four-wheel drive is available for drivers who want to maintain outstanding traction on the trails or on wet roads.
